White County Middle School Warriors showcased a powerful performance, on Aug. 22, 2024, defeating Prescott Middle School with an impressive score of 34-0. The team’s success was a collective effort, highlighted by standout performances from both offensive and defensive players.
Leading the charge on offense was Brennan Burchett, who rushed for a remarkable 80 yards and scored 2 touchdowns. His agility and speed were instrumental in the Warriors’ dominating ground game. Tristan Cavanah also made significant contributions, racking up 55 receiving yards and securing one touchdown.
On the defensive side, Will Taylor earned the title of Defensive Player of the Game. Taylor’s relentless pursuit of the ball resulted in 3 tackles for a loss and a fumble recovery that he ran in for a touchdown further solidifying the Warriors’ lead.
The offensive line played a pivotal role in the victory, with Brayden Prater, Tristan Scott, Raider Wardlaw, Gavvin Conley, and Morgan Teeples earning recognition as Offensive Players of the Game. Together, they paved the way for the team to rush for a total of 140 yards, showcasing their strength and teamwork with an impressive eight pancake blocks.
The Warriors’ decisive victory continues to build momentum. White County Middle School has two more road games – first Upperman and then Macon County – before ending the regular season at home against DeKalb County.
