WCMS Warriors fall to Coffee County

Posted

On Sept. 22, the White County Middle School Warriors traveled to Manchester to take on the Red Raiders in a big conference matchup.  With a win over the Red Raiders, it would have put the conference into a three-way tie for first place; a loss would put the Warriors out of contention for the title.

The Red Raiders flexed their muscles early by holding the Warriors defensively and then scoring in two plays to take an early lead.  Once again Sparta turned the ball over on downs, and Coffee County moved the ball into the end zone to take a 14-0 lead.

Coffee added another touchdown in the second quarter to move the score to 21-0. With 3:31 to play in the half, Nathaniel Griffin broke free for an 18-yard touchdown and put the Warriors on the board.  Coffee County would add two more scores before half and take a commanding lead into the break. The Warriors added two late scores.

The final score ended 42-21. The Warriors have one game left next Tuesday against Warren County.
