WCTE remembers tornado and victims on one-year anniversary

 WCTE PBS will remember the one year anniversary with the airing of the Emmy nominated documentary Tennessee Tornado: Putnam Strong, at 7 p.m., March 3.

The evening will include special guest and host of the documentary Demetria Kalodimos. Kalodimos an Award-winning anchor and Tennessee Journalism Hall of Fame recipient will share her behind the scenes experience while taping and working on the documentary just one year ago.   

After the documentary, Becky Magura will host a virtual town hall with Putnam County Mayor, Randy Porter, and City of Cookeville Mayor, Ricky Shelton, as they take a look back on that day in history that changed so many lives, and share highlights from the community event that paused to remember the one year anniversary.

“The March 2020 tornado drastically changed our community.  We hope everyone will tune in to watch this amazing lineup on WCTE PBS as we pause to remember those that were impacted by the tornado and how our community has responded,” said Avery Hutchins, Station Manager of WCTE PBS.
