CBS SUNDAY MORNING will feature a segment by Correspondent, Martha Teichner, on Sunday, December 6 at 8:00 a.m. featuring Paula Kerger, PBS President and CEO, Ken Burns, Producer and Director, and Becky Magura, President and CEO of WCTE PBS to celebrate the historic milestone of when PBS first went on the air nearly 50 years ago, whose sole mission has been to educate and inspire.

PBS has more than 330 member stations, offering all Americans the opportunity to explore new ideas and new worlds through television and digital content. Each month, PBS reaches over 120 million people through television and 26 million people online, inviting them to experience the worlds of science, history, nature and public affairs; to hear diverse viewpoints; and to take front row seats to world-class drama and performances. PBS’s broad array of programs has been consistently honored by the industry’s most coveted award competitions. Teachers of children from pre-K through 12th grade turn to PBS for digital content and services that help bring classroom lessons to life.

“WCTE was so proud to be recognized as PBS on the ground and making a difference in the lives of those we serve for this important story celebrating the 50th anniversary of PBS.  I loved getting to meet members of the CBS SUNDAY MORNING team and sharing our beautiful region and amazing people, many who rely solely on WCTE via antenna! I’m a huge fan of Martha Teichner, so it was a double honor to be interviewed by her," said Becky Magura, President & CEO of WCTE PBS.

For half a century, PBS programs have let us traverse with the wildlife of the Okavango Delta, solve mysteriescook alongside culinary artistsfall in love and ask a million questions. PBS has educated, engaged and inspired viewers across America, one program at a time as "America’s largest classroom.”
