Weather update at 1:15 a.m. from U.S. National Weather Service - Nashville

Posted

(1:15 AM Jan. 17 update) -  This will not feel like the first time you have heard this. Some new snow accumulations are expected for parts of the area. With conditions being cold as ice, a weak disturbance will add a new coating of snow across parts of northern Middle Tennessee and the Upper Cumberland.

Locations along the Kentucky border, generally from Springfield to Lafayette, will have up to an inch of new snow this morning. The Upper Cumberland, including Cookeville, Livingston, and Jamestown will have snow showers this morning through the afternoon with 1 inch to locally 2 inches of new snow.

This will enhance already hazardous travel conditions across many areas. Say you will be careful if you must travel, especially if traveling a long, long way from home.
