A man who was verified as having been employed at White County Sheriff’s Office at the time of his arrest has been indicted by Putnam County Criminal Court for assault.

According to the indictment, which was obtained from Putnam County Circuit Court Clerk’s Office, Brandon Cheyenne Bean was charged with assault via a true bill (a bill of indictment found by a grand jury to be supported by sufficient evidence to justify the hearing of a case), which was presented March 6, 2023. The indictment was signed by District Attorney General Bryant Dunaway.

A public records request was made to White County Finance Department for verification of Bean’s employment. Chad Marcum, White County director of finance, stated in a letter, “Pursuant to your public records request, I can confirm that Brandon C. Bean was an active employee of the White County Sheriff’s Department on March 7, 2023.”

No further details are available at this time.

The Expositor contacted White County Sheriff Steve Page and asked if he would like to make a comment

“Everyone is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law,” Page said.
