Evan Welch and Katie Anderson competed in the TSSAA State Cross- Country Race, on Nov. 2.  The Warrior runners qualified last week in the region run.  On a cool day, Welch, who had been nursing a sickness, still tied the shoes on and took her place at the starting line.  With her stood her teammate, Anderson.  As the gun sounded, 194 runners that represented schools across the state made their way into the course.  When all was said and done, Welch, despite not feeling 100 hundred percent, finished 36th in the state.  Anderson finished 164th.  Coach Mark Voyles said he was very proud of the way these girls have competed and excited that they had the opportunity to make the state cross-country race and be among the elite runners in the state of Tennessee.
