White County archery teams compete in Bulldog Shootout

The White County Middle and High School Archery teams traveled to Cookeville to compete in the Bulldog Shootout, on Jan. 16, 2021.  The White County High School girls’ team took top honors, sweeping the podium.  Katie Hutching took first place, Gracy Luna took second place, and Hannah Stanton took third place.  The WCHS boys’ team also won the top three spots as Kade Sparks took the top first place spot.  Rob Adcock took second place, and Kenneth Bryant took the third place slot.  

The team finished in first place for the tournament.  In the middle school division, the team took second place overall.  Jordyn Dixon took the individual first place girls’ division, and Collyer Steele took first place in the middle school boys’ division. 

Coach Mickye Steele commented on the team's success. 

 “It was a great opening day tournament for both teams. Our high school team has a strong start and the middle school team is showing lots of improvement from last season,” Steele said. “Both teams show lots of promise for a strong season.”
