White County Middle School eighth grade teams split with East Middle

The White County Middle School eighth grade Warriors and Warriorettes were in action against East Middle School, on Nov. 11. The teams split on the night, with the Warriorettes taking the win and the Warriors falling to East Middle.

In the girls’ game, Celeste Reed dominated the offensive end of the court by scoring 18 points on the way to the victory.  Bella Stiles added nine points.  Karlee Wilhite added eight, while Ava Jones scored seven points.  Rylee Savage put in six points.  Laney Copeland scored three points and adding two points to the victory was Tatum Rittenberry.  The Warriorettes won the game by a score of 53-21.  The Warriorettes went four of 14 from the free-throw stripe.

In the boys’ action, East controlled the game from the opening tip and scored 19 points in the first quarter to the Warriors’ eight points.  The Warriors did outscore East in the third quarter to close the gap, however, the comeback fell short, and East won the game by a score of 45-36.

Colten Locke led the Warriors with 10 points.  Malachi Brown added seven points in the game.  Owen Adams, Blake Steele, and Jackson Young scored five points each.  Brenton Kilgore and Tripp Pinion added two points to end the scoring for the Warriors.  The Warriors went nine for 26 from the free-throw stripe.
