William M. Stevens Sr., 88, of Sparta, passed away July 24, 2020, at his residence. He was the son of John and Elizabeth Stevens who had resided in Franklin, New Jersey.
Mr. Stevens enjoyed being retired from the New Jersey Power and Light Company where he was employed for 42 years. He was also discharged from the United States Army. He loved gardening and traveling.
Mr. Stevens will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Alma Minnich and Grace Zerbe and his brothers, Jack Stevens, Edward John Stevens, and Benedict Stevens.
Survivors include his wife, Marjorie Wearne Stevens, whom he adored for 69 years, and his son, William M. Stevens and Debbie Johnson.
The family has chosen cremation. A private memorial service will be at a later date.
Oak Lawn Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
