Wilma Faye Smith, 94, of Sparta, passed away May 22, 2023, at Saint Thomas Midtown Hospital, in Nashville.
She was born May 6, 1929, in Sparta. She was the daughter of John and Lena Hedgecough Rice.
Faye was a long-time cosmetologist serving the people of White County. She attended West Sparta church of Christ, which she considered to be her special church family.
In addition to her parents, Faye was preceded in death by her husband, Horace Smith, and her brothers John B. Rice Jr. and Donald Earl Rice.
Surviving family members include a brother, Malcolm Kyle Rice (Bernadette), of Memphis; niece, Connie Sparkman (Robert), of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; several other nieces and nephews; and many friends and neighbors.
Funeral service was 11 a.m., May 26, 2023, at Oak Lawn Funeral Home, with burial in Oak Lawn Cemetery. Bro. Derrick Coble officiated.
Oak Lawn Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
