Project will be complete remodel of walking track and hallways

Because of renovations to the hallways and walking track, Sparta White-County Family YMCA will be closed Oct. 26-30.

“We continue to find ways to improve and update our facility,” YMCA CEO Kyle Goff said. “The upcoming project will be a complete remodel of our walking track and hallways.”

Goff said that while the facility will be closed for general use, group fitness classes will continue with a normal schedule, however, they will be held in the gymnasium rather than in their regular spaces. In addition, Kidzone will be open normal hours for those attending group fitness classes. Emergency childcare will also continue at another location, with details being made available to participants and their families.

“We will communicate more specifics on programs and activities that will continue as scheduled over the coming weeks,” Goff said and then offered an alternative for those members who will miss their normal workout routine during the facility’s renovation period. “Remember, for active, full-facility YMCA members, you have a nationwide membership and can use other facilities during our closure.”

Goff said he understands that closing the facility at any time is never ideal, but that it could not be avoided considering the scope of the renovation. He said they will work diligently to complete the project and return to a normal schedule quickly.

“We apologize for the inconvenience,” he told all Sparta-White County Family YMCA members.
