Virgie Hitchcock Goodwin

Virgie Hitchcock Goodwin, 85, of Cookeville, passed away April 4, 2002, at Masters Health Care Center.
Goodwin was born Sept. 28, 1916, in Putnam County, to Samuel and Susan Nash Hitchcock.
She as a member of Stevens Street Baptist Church. Goodwin was retired from Cookeville Shirt Factory.
Goodwin was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clyde E. Goodwin; six brothers, Sterling Hitchcock, Frank Hitchcock, Andrew Hitchcock, Luther Hitchcock, James Hitchcock and Albert Hitchcock; and four sisters, Velma Goodwin, Irene Pinoin, Pauline Watson and Verlie Hitchcock.
Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Dennis and Marty Goodwin, Johnny and Teresa Goodwin and Gerald and Peggy Goodwin all of Cookeville; two daughters and sons-in-law, Joyce and Cliff Raney of Algood and Petty and Harold Bilbrey of Cookeville; three brothers, Herman Hitchcock and Howard Hitchcock both of Cookeville and Cleve Hitchcock of Sparta; two sisters, Mae Jager of Cookeville and Nova Ramsey of Sparta; 12 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.
Services were held at 2 p.m., April 7, 2002, at the chapel of Whitson Funeral Home with burial in Crest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Bro. Jimmy Arms and Bro. Cleve Hitchcock officiated.
Whitson Funeral Home in Cookeville was in charge of arrangements.
