Warrior golf teams advance to regionals set for Oct. 7

The White County High School golf team took part in the district tournament, in Cookeville, on Sept. 30. Both the girls and boys teams qualified for the regional tournament to be held in Cookeville, on Oct. 7.
On the boys’ side, Cookeville took first place, with a low team score of 297. White County came in second, with a total score of 312. Soddy Daisy came in third, with a 323. Cookeville’s Luke Caldwell shot a low round of 69.
Sparta’s individual scores had Jarrett Glass shooting the low round for White County, with a 75. Trey Crockett and Parker Whited each came in with a 78. Jeremiah Gardenhire finished with a score of 81, and Tyson Welch came in after 18 holes, with a score of 82.
On the ladies’ side of play, Morgan Quick finished with a score of 91, and Addie Selby was next in line, with a score of 92.
Cookeville took first place in the girls’ division, with a score of 170. Soddy Daisy placed second, with a score of 172. Sparta came in third place in the district tournament, with a 183 score.
The teams will compete in the Region Match, on Oct. 7. Only one team moves on to the state tournament, however, the three low individual scores will qualify for the state tournament on an individual basis.
