WCHS volleyball wins district match

On Sept. 18, the White County High School volleyball team traveled to Warren County. Sparta took three straight games to win the district match. The score in game one was 25-22, game two was 25-13, and game three to win the match was 25-20. Lauren Turner led with 12 kills and two aces. Nia Powers had nine kills and one ace. Hanna Sims had six kills. Lindi Smith had five kills, 17 assists and two aces. Caydra Parker had three kills, 12 assists, and one ace. Karley Gentry added two kills.
On Sept. 21, the WCHS volleyball team traveled to Coffee County to take part in a tournament. In the first game Sparta won the match in two straight games against Whitwell High School two games to zero. the first game, Sparta won by a score of 25-20. The second game and match winner went Sparta’s way 25-22. Hanna Sims, Nia Powers, and Caydra Parker led the team with five kills each. Lauren Turner added five kills for the match. Lindi Smith led the team with nine assists. Parker added seven assists. Lindi Smith, Taylor Roberts, and Ellie Savage had two aces on serve. Powers added one ace.
In the second match of the night, the Warrior opponent was Ezell Harding. Sparta took two straight games to win the match by winning game one 25-11 and game two 25-19. Lauren Turner, Hanna Sims, and Karley Gentry led the team in kills with five each. Caydra Parker had four kills, Nia Powers had two kills and Lindi Smith added one kill. Smith led the team in assists with 10, Parker added six assists and Alyson Jones added two assists. Ellie Savage led the team in aces on serve with five. Taylor Roberts added two aces.
