The White County Middle School Warriorette softball team began their season this week, and, while he just took over at the helm, Coach Gregg Segraves said he has been impressed with the amount of work the team has been willing to do to get ready for this season.

“These girls are working extremely hard to get better each and every day,” Segraves said. “We’ve had some injuries that have slowed up our pitching staff, but we are slowly getting close to 100 percengt.   We couldn’t be more pleased with the work ethic of these young ladies.”

Segraves went on to say the girls played 25 innings last week for a fundraiser, and their willingness to put in the work to become better showed.

This year’s WCMS softball coaching staff consist of Segraves, who is co-coaching with Kevin Copeland, and assistants Breanna Powell, Kayleigh Baksa, and Kamryn McLatchy.

Segraves said the players and coaches would like to thank all of their Game Day Sponsors for the support they have shown to the White County Middle School softball program. Game Day Sponsors include: The Hitch Outfitters, Automation Company, Life Church, Domino’s Pizza, Brady’s Printing, Fontana Gruppo, 21G Corp, Cumberland Container Corporation, Titon Display and Packaging, Frank’s, Small Biz Resources, and Charles Stone Heating and Air.

The Warriorettes have 20 games on their schedule this season.
