Alice Lorene Allison, 96, of Sparta, passed away Nov. 21, 2020, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Allison was born Aug. 29, 1924, in Silver Point.

She left home at age 16 to live with her sister, in Michigan, and work. There she had many jobs, including working at Westinghouse during World War II, where she installed electrical wiring on PT boats for the U.S. Navy.

She married Willie Clayburn Allison, in 1944. They worked in Michigan until 1956 when they returned to White County, Tennessee, and purchased a farm.

They were married for 54 years and had two children, Donald and Denise.

Mrs. Allison worked at McCord-Winn, in Cookeville, for 31 years. She was a longtime member of Almyra Methodist Church, in White County. She had a long and happy life with family and many friends.

Mrs. Allison was preceded in death by her parents, Luke Gilliam Lafever and America Alice Goff Lafever; her husband, Willie Clayburn Allison; and 12 siblings.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Beth Allison and grandson Ryan Allison, all of Cookeville; her daughter,    Denise Moore and grandson Christopher (wife Ashley) Moore, all of Sumter, South Carolina; her great-grandchildren, Lawson Moore, Eli Braswell, Kara Nickens; and many nieces and nephews.

A private graveside service and interment at Pleasant View Cemetery was Nov. 24, 2020.

Hooper, Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home, in Cookeville, was in charge of arrangements.
