Alma Cleo Luna Farley, 90, of Sparta, passed away Sept. 9, 2025, at her residence, surrounded by her loving family.
Alma was born May 3, 1935, in Sparta.
She lived many years in Illinois where she was an active member of Park Forest South Baptist Church. She enjoyed serving as a Sunday School teacher, along with teaching a crafting class at the Senior Citizens Center. She returned to Sparta after the untimely death of her husband, in 1979, where she began a career at Russell Stover and became an active member of Bear Cove Baptist Church.
Although Cleo dedicated much of her time to her church and community, her true dedication was being a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother Gigi to her beloved family. She proudly made her children’s clothing as they were growing up, and she always gave her full support and encouragement in all of her family’s endeavors. She loved traveling to visit family - whether she was going to help to take care of babies born into the family or making three trips to Africa to visit her daughter as she served there. Cleo was lovingly devoted to her family.
Cleo was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Hamp Farley; mother, Henry Mason Young Luna; father, Floyd Luna; and siblings, Loretta Luna Sparks, Juanita Luna Gilliam, W.H. Luna, Lois Luna Bumbalough, James Luna, and Sue Luna Qualls.
