Barbara Helen Robinson, 87, of Sparta, passed away unexpectedly, on Dec. 13, 2024, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.
Barbara was born April 28, 1937, in the Johnson’s Chapel Community of DeKalb County, to James Haskel “Big Jim” and Pearl Hale Robinson.
She was a devoted Christian who loved her family and always prioritized her church. She was a member of Hickory Valley Baptist Church. She was the happiest when she was cooking and helping her community. Barbara’s work career included Sparta Shirt Factory, Hillcrest Restaurant, Red Kap, Wagner, and Star Catering. She sold Stanley Home Products for 60 years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandson J.D. Hyatt; brothers, Larry Robinson, Jack Robinson; sisters-in-law, Kathy Robinson, Nottie Jo Robinson; niece, Tiffany Jenkins; and nephew, Gary Wayne Robinson
Surviving family members include her daughter, Denise (Mike) Sullivan; granddaughter, Leslie (Brad) Goodwin; great-granddaughter, Madison Mahan; great-grandson, Andre Hyatt; brothers. Jimmy Robinson, Charles Robinson; nieces and nephews, Janie (Randy) Cowan, Darlene (Wayne) Chandler, James (Sandy) Robinson, Ray (Maggie) Robinson; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.
Funeral service was 1 p.m., Dec. 18, 2024, at Hunter Funeral Home, with burial in Johnson’s Chapel Cemetery. Doug Benningfield officiated.
Andre Hyatt, Brad Goodwin, Charles Robinson, Randy Cowan, Mike Sullivan, and Ray Robinson served as pallbearers.
Hunter Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
