Benny Caleb Sewell, 80, of Sparta, passed from this life, on Jan. 19, 2023, at his home. He was born April 10, 1942, in Willow Grove. He was the son of Willie and Melba Sewell.
In addition to his parents, Benny was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Timothy Plant, and his brother-in-law, Jim Hutson.
Surviving family members include his wife of 35 years, Judith Sewell, of Sparta; daughters, Rene McGuire (Shane), Terri Plant, Tanya Tillis (Rick); stepsons, Doug Elam (Vicki), Edward Elam (Teresa); five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren; nine step-great-grandchildren; sisters, Anna Hutson, Shirley Groves (Wayne); and brother, Roy Sewell (Brenda).
A memorial service was 1 p.m., Jan. 21, 2023, at North Sparta Church of God.
Memorial contributions may be to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
Oak Lawn Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
