Cathy Jo Mizar McCall, 70, of Sparta, passed away Oct. 6, 2024, at Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital, in Murfreesboro.
Cathy was born Feb. 12, 1954, in Pueblo, Colorado, to William Chester and Dorothy Juanita Searcy Mizar.
Cathy was a longtime secretary for the Southern Baptist Stewardship Commission. She also taught preschool at a variety of churches throughout the Upper Cumberland. She was a member of First Baptist Church Cookeville. She enjoyed traveling and liked to spend her free time sewing, quilting, and gardening. She was active in several clubs and groups associated with those hobbies.
Surviving family members left to cherish her memory include her husband of 50 years, Stephen Thomas McCall; two daughters, Stacy Lynn Lutwinski and husband Mike, Renee Elizabeth Parsons and husband Jonathan; brother, Gary Dean Mizar and wife Rita; and brother-in-law, John Douglas McCall.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m., Oct. 11, 2024, at First Baptist Church Cookeville, with burial in Saylors Cemetery. Bill Stone will officiate. The family will receive friends 4-8 p.m., Oct. 10, at Hunter Funeral Home, and 9:30-11 a.m., Oct. 11, at the church.
