Cecil Aaron Foster, 68, of Sparta, passed away July 9, 2025, in the emergency room of Saint Thomas Highlands Hospital, in Sparta.
Cecil was born Nov. 13, 1956, in Sparta, to J.C. and Bernie Ruth Johnson Foster.
Cecil worked as a diesel mechanic and ultimately shop manager before starting a long career in satellite installation. He was a Jack-of-all-trades and the family fix-it man. He was an avid hunter of arrowheads and loved to unwind with an episode of Gunsmoke, alongside his Great Pyrenees, Tucker.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Erin Leigh Foster, who died April 3, 2000.
Surviving family members left to cherish his memory include his wife of 46 years, Leigh Ann Williams Foster; son, Will Foster and Beth-Marie Tunia; brother, Jason (Tabitha) Foster; sisters, Sue Savage, Gail (Eugene) Lawson, Wanda (Gary) Stafford, Brenda Pope, Sharron (Byron) Mason, Laurie (Tom) Pemberton, Lynda Jolley; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral service was 3 p.m., July 13, 2025, at Hunter Funeral Home. Eugene Lawson officiated. In honor of Cecil’s wishes, he will be cremated following his funeral service.
Hunter Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
