Charlie Lee Cloyd Jr, 81, of Doyle, passed away Thursday, Oct. 16, 2025. He was born Jan. 30, 1944, in Sparta. He was the son of Charlie Lee Cloyd Sr. and Mary Ellen Brown Bohannon.
Charlie grew up learning the farm life and continued that practice into his retirement years. With over 30 years of employment, he retired from Fleetguard, in 2001. Charlie was a member of Greenwood Baptist Church. He was a long-time season ticket holder and spent many Saturdays cheering for the Tennessee Vols. Charlie was a kind man with a giving heart, and he showed that character in the way he treated others.
Charlie is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Cloyd; children, Trevanda (Tim) Allison, Mike (Lissa) Cloyd, Jason (Jill) Cloyd, Andrea (Terry) Geer; grandchildren, Chance Howell, Macee Allison, Ashlyn (Scott) Scudder, Ty Cloyd, Allison (Michael) Farley, Michaela (Roggie) Haston, Casey (Ryan) Qualls, Joah (Patty) Simmons; and several great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m., Oct. 19, 2025, at Hunter Funeral Home, with burial in Skurlock Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m., Oct. 18, at the funeral home. John McCord and Paul Adkins will officiate.
