Rock Island resident and White County native Charlie Lee Myers, 75, was born Sept. 12, 1948, and died Sept. 7, 2024, at his residence, following an extended illness.

A United States Army veteran of Vietnam, retired employee of Nissan and member of First Baptist Church of Spencer, he was the son    of Paul and Jennie Belle Davis Myers.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Maxine Rigsby; infant brothers, Johnny Bradford Myers, Paul Myers Jr., James Arnold Myers; sister and brother-in-law, Betty Jane and James B. Hubbard; brothers, Joe Donald Myers, Billy Carroll Myers and wife Helen Roberts Bannerman Myers; and brothers-in-law, Willis Rodgers and Richard Bowen.

Mr. Myers was married Nov. 26, 1966, to Brenda Rigsby Myers, of Rock Island, who survives.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons, Paul (LouAnn) Myers, of Rock Island, Brandon (Lisa) Myers, of Spencer; daughter, Katina (Brian) Simmons, of Spencer; grandchildren, Chad (Alyssa) Myers, of Murfreesboro, Dylan Simmons, of Murfreesboro, Cade Simmons, of Spencer; great-granddaughter, Carolina Myers; brothers, Jackie (Carol) Myers, of Rock Island, Bruce (Beverly) Myers, of Murfreesboro; sisters, Judy Rodgers, of Gallatin, Janice Bowen, of California; father-in-law, Harold Rigsby, of Rock Island; brothers-in-law, Kenneth (Janice) Rigsby, of Rock Island, Keith (Misty) Rigsby, of Morrison; sisters-in-law, Sandra (Wade) Bouldin, of Spencer, Pam (John) Comer, of Rock Island; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral service was 2 p.m., Sept. 10, 2024, at High Funeral Home Chapel. Willard Ralph Jr. and Dylan Simmons officiated. Full military honors were administered by VFW Post 5064 and American Legion Post 173. Interment followed at Long Cemetery, in Van Buren County.

High Funeral Home, in McMinnville, was in charge of arrangements.
