CRMC's Maldonado receives certification in dry needling

Cookeville Regional Medical Center (CRMC) sports physical therapist David Maldonado is proud to announce his certification in dry needling, having successfully completed the American Academy of Manipulative Therapy (AAMT) curriculum for dry needling.

The 54-hour curriculum, provided by the AAMT, covers evidence-based techniques for treating various musculoskeletal and conditions, including whiplash-associated disorders, certain types of headaches, acute lumbar radiculopathy (“sciatica”), hip dysfunction, knee osteoarthritis, patellofemoral pain syndrome, medial collateral ligament injuries, “shin splints”, ankle “sprains”, Achilles tendinosis, plantar fasciitis, and more.

"This certification allows me to offer my clients the latest, evidence-based treatments for a range of conditions,” said Maldonado. “I'm excited to integrate these new techniques into my practice to help patients.”

In addition to the newly added dry needling therapy, the CRMC Sports Medicine Center also offers a wide range of therapies from rehabilitation from major surgery to general orthopedic care. The facility boasts 80 feet of artificial turf, lifting equipment, and multiple providers that are certified in orthopedic and sports specific care.
