Mr. Daniel Paul Young, Sr., age 50, of the Gum Springs Mountain Community, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, May 15, 2026, at his residence.
Daniel was born April 4, 1976, in Smithville, Tennessee, to Charlie Ray “Buster” and Patricia Jane “Patty” Vanatta Young. He was a former employee of White County Lumber for several years as a saw sharpener. He enjoyed fishing, but most of all, he loved devoting his time to his children and grandchildren.
Daniel is preceded in death by his grandparents, Pauline and Paul Young, Mary and Grundy Young; mother-in-law, June Young, and brother-in-law Eric Young.
Surviving family members left to cherish his memory include his wife of 28 years, Tina S. Young
Daughters: Abby, Ericka, Maddie, Adaline, Amelia, and Layla Young
Sons: Daniel Young, Jr. and Dalton Young
Grandchildren: Remington Mason, Riverlynn Mason, Eleanora Young, arriving in October, and Rynleigh Mason, arriving in September.
Parents: Buster and Patty Young
Brothers: Grundy Young and Barry (Lindsy) Young
Sisters: Kim Young, Kelly (Andrew) Hall, Shelley (Dakota) Randolph
Father-in-law: Rick Young
Sister-in-law: Betty (Larry) Henry
A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 pm Tuesday, May 19, 2026, from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with burial in Young Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4-8 pm on Monday at Hunter Funeral Home. Don Shuster will officiate.
Hunter Mason, Johnny Darrell Young, Jamie Young, Jason Holder, Dustin Brady, and Bubby Young will serve the family as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearer is Barry Young.
Hunter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
