Donald Ralph Wilson, affectionately known as Don, age 75, of Sparta, passed away May 28, 2025, at NHC Healthcare of Sparta, with his family by his side.
Don was born Feb. 13, 1950, in Clarkrange, to John Haskel and Golda Lee Key Wilson.
He dedicated his life to law enforcement for the White County Sheriff's Department, Sparta Police Department, and administrating the White County Jail. Don enjoyed playing guitar and was an antique gun enthusiast.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Jonathan Spakes; sister, Doris Caton; brother, David Wilson; and mother of his children, Brenda Fish Wilson.
Surviving family members left to cherish his memory include his wife of 36 years, Beverly Copeland Wilson; daughters, Ann Wilson Ake and husband Chris, Karen Buchanan and husband Steven; son, Joshua Spakes; and grandchildren, Jared Ake and Emilee Ake.
In honor of Don's wishes, Hunter Funeral has been entrusted with his cremation.
A memorial service was 1 p.m., May 31, 2025, at Hunter Funeral Home. Phillip Luna officiated.
Hunter Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
