Donald Wayne Spivey, 79, of Sparta, passed away peacefully, on Feb. 15, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones while at Grandview Nursing Home, in Cookeville.
He was born July 8, 1945, in Sparta, to Donald H. and Ora C. Spivey.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Shirley Spivey, brother-in-law, Robert Puckett; and niece, Lisa Cassey.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, David and Cindy Spivey; brother and sister-in-law, Ronnie and Joyce Spivey; sister and brother-in-law, Freda and Jimmy Moss; sister and brother-in-law, Correne and Don Fougere; sister, Wilma Sparks; nieces and spouses, Derona Ray and Billy Ray, Kim Randolph and Jay Randolph; and nephew, Stevie Moss.

Funeral service was 2 p.m., Feb. 18, 2025, at Thurman Funeral Home, with burial in Plainview Cemetery. Bro. Howard Gorter officiated.
