Dr. Albert Austin Jones III, a long-time resident of Livingston, Tennessee, and radiologist at Livingston Regional Hospital, passed away peacefully, on July 22, 2021, surrounded by his friends and family at Livingston Hospital where he served for more than 30 years having lost his long-term battle with sarcoma.
Dr. Jones was preceded in death by his parents, Albert Jones Jr. and Lemo Jewell Simmons Jones.
Dr. Jones is survived by his brother, David B. Jones, and sister-in-law, Debra Matherne, and nephews, William Tate Jones, of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and Dr. Davis Brent Jones, of Manhattan, New York.
Dr. Jones served in the United States Army Medical Corps.
Dr. Jones was a graduate of the University Tennessee College of Medicine and a Board Certified Radiologist by the American College of Radiology.
Dr. Jones was involved in and supported many activities in his adopted hometown of Livingston. Dr. Jones was known by his friends for his intelligence, infectious smile, great laugh, and his kind and compassionate spirit. He went out of his way to show kindness and support when friends were in need.
Dr. Jones chose cremation. The family followed his wishes, and a celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
