Annual data for White County’s many brave, hard-working agencies have been released. Sheriff, police, emergency medical service and Volunteer Fire Departments all have hundreds upon thousands of calls a year. The incident count for 2025 was slightly higher, for most agencies, than the prior year.

The yearly dispatches for the sheriff’s office, police department, volunteer firefighters, and emergency medical service, Jan. 1, 2025 to Dec. 31, 2025, are as follows:

•White County Sheriff: 23,976

•Sparta Police Department: 8,362

•White County Emergency Medical Service: 6,700

•Sparta-White County Rescue: 356

•BonDeCroft Volunteer Fire Department: 606

•Cassville Volunteer Fire Department: 486

•Central View Volunteer Fire Department: 605

•Cherry Creek Volunteer Fire Department: 573

•Doyle Volunteer Fire Department: 411

•Eastland Volunteer Fire Department: 571

•Hickory Valley Volunteer Fire Department: 380

•North End Volunteer Fire Department: 605

•Sparta Fire Department: 741

Most of these agencies had a higher number of dispatches the past year than they did in 2024. Sparta Police Department had nearly a thousand more calls, the sheriff had hundreds more, and the rescue squad had 70 more dispatches.

In the month of December, the highest number of dispatches for the Sparta Police Department were Traffic Stops (274), Signal Six (phone call) (39), and Welfare Checks (33). For White County Sheriff, the highest dispatches were under the same categories largely, with the addition of Extra Patrol (253), Attempt to Serve Civil (115), and Investigation (46).

For Sparta Fire Department, most of their dispatches were to assist other agencies, such as EMS -  Difficulty Breathing (17) or EMS Fall (14). For EMS, the highest number of dispatches was for Transport at 169, but they also had a high number of Falls (66) and General Sickness (63).

The month with the highest number of dispatches changes per agency, though the summer months were largely higher on average. The colder months, such as December, January, or even March for some, had lower dispatch rates.
