Earl “Buddy” Brock passed away Nov. 14, 2025.

He was born July 29, 1945, to Lillian and David Earl Brock, who had resided in Doyle.

Buddy worked at sawmills and retired from Cookeville handle mill. He also worked and lived in Michigan for a short time. He loved being with friends, playing music, and picking on a guitar. When he wasn’t playing guitar, you could often find him “loaferin” as he called it, visiting people he cared about, such as friends and family. He enjoyed sitting around talking about the old times, guns, music, and old cars.

Buddy always stood out with his wardrobe choices and style, which changed with the season. He was “a cool cat” he’d say. He lived a full life with people who loved him to the moon and back!

He was preceded in death by his eldest son, David Brock; brother, Joel Brock; and sisters, Betty Sue McCoy and Margie Carter.

He is survived by his wife, Roberta Ann Barns Brock; son, James “Duck” Brock and wife Janie; granddaughter, Santana Brock and partner Lane Tinch, Ashley King and husband A.J., Amber Schoolfield and husband James; grandson, Dustin Brock; special great-granddaughter, Destiny Pope, and many other grandchildren; brother, Sammy Brock and wife Lesa; and sister, Donna Morris.

A Celebration of Life Service will be 10 a.m-2 p.m., Nov. 29, 2025, at Greenwood Baptist Church, in Doyle.

Oak Lawn Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
