Elwood Newport, 89, of Sparta, passed away Sept. 9, 2024, at Alive Hospice, in Murfreesboro.
He was born May 8, 1935, in Sunbright, Tennessee, and was the son of John Marion Newport and Dortha Helen Newport.
Funeral service was Sept. 16, 2024, at Oak Lawn Funeral Home, with burial in New Bon Air Cemetery. Pastor John Wilson officiated.
Oak Lawn Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
