Evelyn Treadway Vinson, 83, of Sparta, passed Sept. 22, 2023, at her residence.
Evelyn was born June 27, 1940, in the Dogwood community of Cumberland County, to Tobe and Pauline Ross Treadway.
She was a homemaker and a longtime waitress. She loved cooking and was an avid fisherman.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Helen Smith, Margie Hayes, Hazle Grindle, Lois Fitzgerald, and brothers, Carl Treadway, Claude Treadway, Virgil Treadway, Earl Treadway, Bill Treadway, and Willard Treadway.
Survivors include her husband of 42 years, Leroy Vinson; niece, Rosetta Hall and husband Vincent; dear friend and great-niece, Kimberly Bridges and husband James; sister-in-law, Corky Treadway; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great-nephews.
Funeral service was 1 p.m., Sept. 25, 2023, at Hunter Funeral Home, with burial in Oak Lawn Cemetery. Lamar Redmond officiated.
Travis Hall, James Bridges, Tim Treadway, Tracy Treadway, David Minnear and Tim Meadows served as pallbearers.
Hunter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
