Upper Cumberland Habitat for Humanity (UCHFH) is excited to bring its mission to White County, launching a local Advisory Committee dedicated to serving the community’s unique needs. With a warm welcome and an open invitation—”We’re here, we’re listening, and we’re ready to build together!”—this program promises to foster collaboration and channel local energy into building lasting change.
There are multiple ways to get involved. Whether you prefer hands-on construction work or offering behind-the-scenes support, UCHFH has a volunteer role for you. Opportunities include assisting at the ReStore, supporting special events like 5K races or Cooking on the Square, and helping out in the administrative office with clerical and outreach efforts. For anyone interested in finding the perfect role, Mallory, the Events and Volunteer Coordinator, is ready to connect and guide you.
Come out and visit them at the Business Expo on May 15th at First National Bank in Sparta and watch for a new ReStore Donation Pop-Up on June 14th from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Join UCHFH and help build more than houses.
Habitat for Humanity’s mission goes beyond construction. It is about empowerment—providing financial education for long-term stability, enabling affordable homeownership that builds strength and self-reliance, and embracing “sweat equity,” where homebuyers help build their own homes and communities. Families who meet income guidelines and have a need for safe, affordable housing partner with Habitat by contributing hundreds of volunteer hours in lieu of a traditional down payment.
Rising land and construction costs have made community support more crucial than ever. There are several ways to support this vital cause, from sponsorships at Dream Builder Luncheons and ReStore events, to hands-on Build Days, as well as donations of time, money, and materials.
There is such a demand for affordable housing—let’s build a stronger community together!
Thanks, D.W.
