Fundraiser will help JROTC with projects, equipment

A crucial part of the JROTC curriculum is teamwork, combined with discipline and motivation to help cadets grow.

The program has something to offer everyone, from Color Guard to Raider team to Marksmanship and Drill. Cadets have shown their leadership abilities to make them grow and learn to be a better example.

Cadet Richmond, a sophomore in the program, says, “The JROTC program has improved me as a person by teaching me how to solve problems with my peers and how to be disciplined to finish tasks. The program is very important to me because it instills in its cadet’s values that are critical to success in life: respect and leadership. I enrolled in this program my freshman year because I want to join the military after high school and it prepares me for that. Because of its advantages for both school and life, JROTC is a fantastic program to join even if you have no ambitions to join the military.”

The Army provides most of the funding, but there are also a variety of extracurricular activities that cost money for supplies, travel, and occasionally housing.  The White County High School JROTC is hosting a fundraiser called Snap! Raise. The funds raised for the White County High School JROTC program are for the intended use of the proceeds from this event. These contributions will cover the cost of field trips, new equipment for competitions, a Raider team obstacle course, and other program-related expenses for the cadets. Any help toward this fundraiser would be a huge appreciation to the program.

The fundraiser will take place Sept. 9, 2024. There are different ways the community can help donate to the program. Donors can receive direct links to their participants’ fundraiser pages by SMS, email, or Facebook. From there, donors can contribute to the person of their choice immediately with a debit or credit card. Second, an individual can still earn credit for their online contributions made through cash or check donations processed by Snap! Raise Fundraising. All payable organizations associated with the campaign for which the check is intended must be listed on the check.
