Gary Allen Cherry, 70, of Sparta, passed away July 25, 2023, at his home.
He was born Nov. 20, 1952, in Herrin, Illinois, the son of Lawrence Cherry and Mandi Cathey Cherry. He served in the United States Army and was a Vietnam veteran.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Austin Cherry, and a granddaughter, Yasmeen Cherry.
Survivors include his wife, Delores Cherry, of Sparta; sons, Christopher Cherry (Taunia), of Fishtail, Montana, Douglas Cherry, of Livingston; daughters, Melissa Mathis, of Smithville, Sabrina Amann, of Cookeville; grandsons, Lance Cherry, Logan Cherry, Lucas Cherry, Garak Rosser, Quinn Rosser, Chayton Cherry, Kristian Mathis; granddaughter, Addison Cherry; great-grandsons, Jaxon Amann, Levi Cherry; and special friends, Scottie, Lavonia, and Aaron Matthew Judd and Kim Brock.
The family has chosen cremation. No services are scheduled at this time.
Oak Lawn Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
