Geneva Hayes celebrates 104th

Life Care Center of Sparta celebrated another huge milestone for one of its wisest occupants.

Geneva Hayes spent April 17 celebrating her 104th birthday right before the Easter weekend. The turnout to the event was large, as friends and family all across Sparta came by to wish her a happy birthday.

Hayes’s birthday has been covered by The Expositor before, back during her 101st birthday, and Hayes was just as excited this time as before. In the past, Hayes has had large parties at Duck Pond Manor or humble get-togethers with her family and closest friends. This time, she was eager to greet everyone in the Sparta community that came to wish her a happy birthday.

While she had a long line of visitors to speak with, she said she was excited to talk to them all, even if a bit overwhelmed by the turnout. Among the guests were family members celebrating another year with their loved one, friends of the family who are amazed at her great health, and members of the community who wanted to share the moment with her.

The staff at the Life Care Center were just as pleased with the turnout. Hayes has been one of their longest, and most well-known, elders at the center. Despite just turning 104, she has been as excited and spry as the day she entered.

Hayes felt blessed by the whole party and everyone that came out to support her, and she is eager to take on another great year ahead of her. Life Care Center of Sparta is always proud to see those present in the center succeed regardless of their age, and Geneva Hayes’s excitement, positive attitude, and health is a perfect example that age is just a number.
