George Stephen Barlow, better known as “Steve,” 70, of Quebeck, passed away Sept. 4, 2021, at his residence.

Mr. Barlow was born Sept. 27, 1950, in Sparta, the son of George Titus Barlow and Jo Ada Yates Barlow.

He was a plumber and electrician. He enjoyed boating and fishing out his back door on the Caney Fork River, and he loved to watch movies with a bowl of ice cream. Mr. Barlow also served his country in the United States Army.

He was preceded in death by his father, George Titus Barlow, and his mother, Jo Ada Yates Barlow, who passed away Dec. 1, 2020; two sons, Richard Barlow, Christopher Barlow; and a stepson, Joshua Miktarian.

Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Minda Barlow, of Quebeck; stepson, Paul Miktarian, of Sparta; stepdaughter, Veronica Miktarian, of San Diego, California; grandchildren, Kelly Greene and husband Kevin, Payton Barlow, Heather McCloud, Luke Justus, Alissa Justus, Thea Miktarian; great-grandchildren, Kasen and Kanen Greene; sister, Janice Curtis and husband Tim; and nieces, Kayla Holland and Katie Holland.

Funeral services with full military honors by the Veteran's Honor Guard will be 3 p.m., Sept. 8, 2021, at Hunter Funeral Home. Emery Thompson will officiate. The family will receive friends 1-3 p.m., Sept. 8, at the funeral home.

In consideration of Mr. Barlow’s wishes, he will be cremated following his funeral, and his ashes will be buried in McElroy Cemetery.
