Gloria Jean Young, a vibrant artist, loving mother, and cherished member of her community, passed away Feb. 21, 2025. Her life, a testament to creativity, compassion, and unwavering strength, will be deeply mourned by all who knew her.

Gloria's passions were as diverse and beautiful as the paintings she created. A gifted artist inspired by the likes of Bob Ross, she produced thousands of works, capturing the beauty of nature, animals, and the everyday world in her distinctive style. From heartwarming depictions of pets and barn scenes to poignant military remembrance pieces, her art reflected her keen eye for detail and her generous spirit. Her love for her craft extended beyond her personal work; for several years, she served as a passionate and motivating art superintendent at the White County Fairgrounds, where she delighted in sharing her knowledge and encouraging fellow artists. Her talents were widely recognized, earning her numerous awards and ribbons.

Beyond her art, Gloria's life was filled with joy and love. She was a devoted mother, sister, aunt, and grandmother, cherishing her family above all else. Family gatherings were treasured occasions, captured in countless photographs - a testament to her desire to preserve precious memories. Her home, adorned with a flourishing garden bursting with color, was a testament to her love of nature and her generosity. She shared the abundance of her harvests with her community, reflecting the warmth and care that defined her character. Pink and yellow-orange roses, which mirrored her own vibrant spirit, held a special place in her heart. Her kindness extended to animals, whom she rescued and cherished as beloved family members. Gloria's culinary talents were also legendary, with her pumpkin and pecan pies eagerly anticipated during the holiday season.

Gloria's remarkable strength was evident in her life's journey. A three-time breast cancer survivor, she faced adversity with grace and resilience, continuing to blossom and inspire those around her. Her philosophy, "Never stop creating, for all forms of art are a way of expression, beauty, and creativity," encapsulated her belief in the power of artistic expression and the beauty inherent in life. This philosophy, along with her love of nature, animals, and art will live on in the hearts of her children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends, and the countless individuals she touched during her life. Her family plans to honor her legacy by continuing to support and promote artists, keeping Gloria's spirit of creativity alive.

Gloria's life was a masterpiece, a vibrant testament to the beauty of a life well-lived. She will be remembered not only for her artistic accomplishments but for her boundless compassion, unwavering strength, and the deep love she shared with the world. She leaves a legacy of love, creativity, and inspiration that will continue to bloom for generations to come.

She was preceded in death by father, William Ray Winnett; mother, Gladys Clara Cunningham Young; stepfather, Herbert Young; and son, Randy Young.

She is survived by four sons, Duane Young, Eddie "Dale" Adcock, Roger Young, David "Raymond" Young; sister, Penny Young; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

The family is following her wishes to be cremated, and a private celebration of life will happen at a later date.
