Henry Eugene Foster, affectionately known to many as Roundman, age 86, of Sparta, passed away Feb. 7, 2025, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.

Henry was born March 29, 1938, in White County, to Cecil and Myrtle Wheeler Foster.

Henry worked for over 30 years at Builder’s Supply and then served 20 years as White County Circuit Court Clerk. A proud veteran of the United States Army and an active member of Sparta Masonic Lodge #99, Henry enjoyed gardening in his free time - especially spending time on his tractor and tending to his flowers. He also found joy in connecting with people and exploring White County, leading him to find happiness as a substitute mail carrier for many years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Curtis Wayne Cantrell; grandson, Bobby Wayne Cantrell; sisters, Gladys Knapp, Wilma Thompson, Helen Johnson; and brothers, Havern “Bo” Foster and J.C. Foster.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Ruby Young Foster; daughters, Brenda Selby and husband Robert, Glenda Myers and husband John; great-granddaughter, Ashlynn Cantrell (Issac Willard); brother, James “Bill” Foster and wife Earlene; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral service with Masonic Rites were 1 p.m., Feb. 10, 2025, at Hunter Funeral Home, with burial in Oak Lawn Cemetery. Everett Wilson and Dennis Wood officiated.

Joey Savage, Marty Lawson, Cecil Foster, Caden Davis, Issac Willard, Will Foster and Matt Mitchell served the family as pallbearers.

Hunter Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
