Hubert was born to Huey and Stella Young Barr in White County, Tennessee, on November 17th, 1938, on Gum Springs Mountain, where he spent many of his childhood days.
He is a father to five daughters and was loving, tender, giving, and kind. An uncle, a nephew, and a friend to many who would give you the shirt off his back. From his five girls, he has grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Hubert was preceded in death by his mother and father, Huey and Stella Young Barr, his sister Mary Ann, and brother Kenneth.
Hubert is survived by his daughters - Lynn, Lisa, Holly, Stella and Becky, brothers- Roy and Billy Ray, sister- Annette Story, his grandchildren and great grandchildren - Christopher, Michael, Nicholas, Corey, Jeremiah, Andrew, Ian, Debbie, Kayla, Carina, April, Bradley, Kassian, Michelle, Anthony, Savannah, Khalia, Amanda, Kyra, Jaiden, Lilyana, Kaylee, Alexander, Aisley, Hazel, Madelyn, Violet, Lyliana, Ruby Mae, Joshua, Nolan, Calliope, Alayna, Kieran, Luca, Isaiah, new babies on the way, nieces and nephews.
Dad was a handsome man who had an affinity for electronics and small motors from a very young age, which became hobbies alongside cars and motorcycles. He went into the Navy and became an Interior Communications Electrician. Following his Honorable Discharge from the U.S. Navy, he became an Aircraft Instrument Mechanic in the Civil Service.
Funeral Service will be held Monday, August 24, 2026, at 1 pm at the Hensley Chapel Freewill Baptist Church with burial in the Young-Graham Cemetery. The Family will receive friends at the church from 10:30 am until service time. Ray Buster Young will officiate the service.
Pallbearers will be Paul Prentice, Scott Jodzio, Christopher Barr, Nicholas Prentice, Roy Barr, and Ethan Brown.
Dad gave his life to the Lord and was baptized in August 2026. We rejoice that he is now with our maker. He will be terribly missed until we meet again.
