James Darrell Mabe Sr., 63, of Rock Island, passed away March 18, 2025, at Saint Thomas River Park Hospital, in McMinnville.
James was born Aug. 29, 1961, to James William Mabe and Carolyn Faye Jones.
James was a nursery worker and long-haul truck driver with Maverick Trucking. He enjoyed sitting on the front porch, talking with friends and family or people passing by. No one was a stranger. James loved life and the people he shared it with. James loved his family, but his grandchildren were his joy. Most of all, James loved God and the teachings of Jimmy Swaggart Ministries. This led him to the 2021 camp meeting where he got to praise God alongside Mr. Swaggart. His love for the Lord carried him through his life and into his eternal home of Glory.
In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his grandparents, Wallace and Virgie Moore Davis and Lela Mabe Hillis; brother, Richard Allen Mabe; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Fred and Emogene Wilson Green; stepmother, Irene Cunningham Mabe; and brothers-in-law, Jeffery, David, and Johnny Green, and James and Arthur Young.
