James “Jimmy” Wiley Maynard, 74, of Sparta, passed away Dec. 22, 2024, at Signature Healthcare.
He was born Nov. 18, 1950, in Detroit, Michigan, to Jeff Maynard and Frances Johnson Maynard.
Jimmy loved Monte Carlos, motorcycles, and traveling to see the sights.
In addition to his parents, Jimmy was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Dillard Johnson.
He is survived by son, James “Jimbo” Wiley Maynard Jr., of Sparta; daughter, Hope Marie (Tyler) Watson, of Pikeville; brother, Levon (Rose) Maynard, of Sparta; sisters, Rita Hutchings Johnson, of Sparta, Debbie (Wayne) Hutchings, of Quebeck, Janice (Ronald) Pittman, of Sparta, Karen (Mark) Ward, of Sparta; aunt, Beulah Johnson, of Ooltewah; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service was 1 p.m., Dec. 28, 2024, at Oak Lawn Funeral Home, with burial in Oak Lawn Cemetery. Pastor Eugene Lawson officiated.
Oak Lawn Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
