James L. Carter, 74, passed away Sept. 22, 2024, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.
He was born Dec. 16, 1949, in Drexel, Ohio, to Jerry and Henrietta Carter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jerry and Henrietta Carter.
Survivors include his loving wife of 40 years, Linda Carter; daughters, Holly (Mike) Walters, Shannon (Steve) Henry, Samantha Carter; son, James Carter Jr.; grandchildren, Michael (Alexa) Jonas, Kristen Jonas, Taylor (Tyler) Burke, Eli (Chelsea) Henry, Jamie Carter, Jayden Henry, Ella Kate Wells, Wyatt Kroenert, Walker Kroenert,; great- grandchildren, Ramsey Burke, Carson Jonas; and brothers, Jerry Carter, Duane Carter, Gary Carter; and sister, Diane Williams.
Pallbearers will be Mike Walters, Steve Henry, Eli Henry, Jayden Henry, Gary Carter, and Brinn Kiser.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jeff Allison and Nathan Carter.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m., Sept. 26, 2024, at Thurman Funeral Home, with burial in Sand Springs Cemetery. Maston Jackson will officiate. The family will receive friends 11 a.m.-1 p.m., Sept. 26, at the funeral home.
