James Thurman Chaffin, 79, of Sparta, passed away Aug, 29, 2021, at his residence.
Mr. Chaffin was born June 8, 1942, in Gainesboro, to Homer Fred and Rose Nell Chaffin.
He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant child, Matthew David Chaffin.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Elinore Stewart Chaffin; son, Mark Chaffin (Terumi); daughter, Brenda Chaffin Wilson (Steven); grandchildren, Megan Wilson, Dalton Chaffin, Daegan Chaffin; and sister, Linda Austin (Jerry).
Funeral service will be 5 p.m., Sept. 5, 2021, at Corinth Church of Christ, with burial in Corinth Cemetery. The family will receive friends 2-5 p.m., Sept. 5, at the church.
