Jeremy Lee Bechtel, age 17 at the time he went missing, on April 3, 2000, was found, on Dec. 1, 2021, in Sparta.
He was born Nov. 7, 1982, in Smithville. He was the son of Ronnie Lee Bechtel and the late Rhonda England Bechtel Ledbetter.
Jeremy loved music, and he enjoyed playing sports in school.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Clifford and Betty Bechtel and Paul and Vera England.
Survivors include his parents, Ronnie and Karen Bechtel, of McMinnville; stepfather, Hunter Ledbetter, of Sparta; brothers, Rickey Fox, of McMinnville, Dusty Fox, of McMinnville; nieces, Cloe Fox, Lillian Fox; and several cousins and other family members.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m., Jan. 15, 2022, at Oak Lawn Funeral Home, with burial in Skurlock Cemetery. Dwight Fuqua will officiate.
The family will receive friends 11 a.m.-1 p.m., Jan. 15, at the funeral home.
Oak Lawn Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
