Jesse James Adcock, 94, of Sparta, passed away peacefully, on April 30, 2023, at Life Care Center of Sparta.
Mr. Adcock was born Nov. 14, 1928, in Sparta, to Anthony Paton and Ruthie Vera Taylor Adcock.
He was a farmer and former employee of Tillman Hutchings Sawmill. He served his country in the U.S. Army.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Marion Edwin Adcock; brothers, Frank Richard Adcock, Claybron Eldon Adcock; and sister, Mary Magdaline Luna.
Surviving family members include his two sons, Richard “Peanut” Adcock and Shannon Weaver, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral service was 1 p.m., May 3, 2023, at Hunter Funeral Home, with burial in Taylor’s Providence Cemetery.
Hunter Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
