Jimmie Gail Doot, 79, of Sparta, Tennessee, passed away on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center in Tennessee.
She was born on Monday, October 21, 1946, in Dallas, Texas; she was the daughter of the late James Fields and the late Alice Bernice Weir Fields.
In addition to her parents, Gail is preceded in death by her husband: Larry Doot; daughter: Bobbi Poston; brothers: Jack Fields and Kelly Fields; and sister: Becky Pirtle.
She is survived by her daughter: Crystal Rohlander; son: Danny Poston; grandchildren: Todd Stoglin, Travis (Jess) Stoglin, Tosha (Mike) Teeples, Tabitha Stoglin, and Kaden Young; special nephews: Anthony Pirtle, Jack Fields Jr. and wife, and Jason Fields; niece: Sydney Fields; and many great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be at 2 PM on Friday at Oak Lawn Funeral Home. Interment will be at Oak Lawn Memorial Cemetery, Sparta, TN.
The family will receive friends from 12 PM to 2 PM on Friday, July 17, 2026, at Oak Lawn Funeral Home.
