John D. Jarvis, affectionately known as “Booger,” 88, of Sparta, passed away April 30, 2020, with his wife Rosemary by his side.

John D. was born Aug. 3, 1931, to Harve and Birdie Jarvis.

He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and was stationed in northern Japan during the Korean War. He was well known throughout Sparta from his long career with First National Bank of Sparta. John loved life and enjoyed farming, flying, traveling, and water skiing, and he had a passion for Volunteer football. He is greatly missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Dorothy Everett and husband Brad, Allah Dean Kress and husband Bill; and nephew Hank Kress.

John D. was survived by his beloved wife, Rosemary, until her passing on Sept. 3, 2023; nephews, Paul (Audra) Everett, Chuck (Lisa) Everett; and nieces, Ann Everett and Pat Kress.

A memorial service to honor John D. and Rosemary will be    conducted 4 p.m., Oct. 8, 2023, at Hunter Funeral Home. The family will receive friends after 3 p.m., Oct. 8, at the funeral home.
