John Lynn Young, 83, passed away Oct. 12, 2025 at Saint Thomas Highlands Hospital, in Sparta.
He was born April 12, 1942, in Sparta, to Noah and Bula Young.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Elton Turner; sisters, Ruth Cantrell, Jean Luna; grandson, Jeremy Vick; and beloved dog, Goober.
He is survived by his children, Ruthie (Richard) Stafford, Christy (Rick) Rose, Jeff (Kathy) Young, Randy (Whittney) Goines; grandchildren, Kimberly Young, Jeffery (Brittany) Young, Jonathon (Britnee) Johnson, Isaiah Phifer; 13 great-grandchildren; brother, Bud (Shela) Young; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins and a dog named Poncho.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
Thurman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
